Jacobx Welcome! Best to start a separate thread and tag with “Buying Advice.” Make sure to include any relevant details about how you plan to use and what you want to optimize for. There is no single best scooter, but many different ones depending on what you need/want.

I’ve been very interested in electric scooters for several years, and really enjoy the great content on YT this team puts out.
I’m also a long-time manual push/kick scooter commuter, mostly because there are laws against electric scooters on public roads in my province.
Things are changing though, either through relaxed laws or e-scooter pilot programs, so now I’m looking at electric scooters.

It seems like some cities are figuring out the benefits of scooters and other PEVs while others have decided to crack down on them. @duner, fellow Canadian, recently posted about crackdown in their city after long period of tolerance.

I’ve updated my ride over a month ago.

I used to go around on a Gotrax XR Elite (sturdy thing), but was disappointed with performance. Not enough speed, acceleration, range…

I moved on up to a Kingsong KS N10 Plus, and it is FAR SUPERIOR. The speed is close to double (24-25 mph compared to 14 mph), the power is greater, the acceleration GREATER (600w. motor, 1250 peak), and range- double the battery.
It’s so much better for commuting.
And the thing is quality. Kingsong is known for their wheels well their scooters are good too!

I have over 470 miles on it in a bit over a month, and it’s all good and sturdy.

Someday I’ll have something even better but for now this is pretty good.

DonL KingSong .. interesting. I know them mostly from EUC world and think they make pretty good products. Will be interesting to hear more about it as you put miles on it. I’m interested to know if their e-scooter lives up to expectations based on their EUCs.

Hello everyone!!…I had to return my Wolf Warrior 11 due to bad cosmetic damages. I told them I’ll just keep it because of how well built this product is put together and I didn’t want to have to send it back and wait another month?? But I sent it back with them willing to throw a fast charger and handlebar extender. So know I’m waiting again but hopefully I can learn a lot from this group about products and safety!! Hello ESG World,

I am Ralph from Daytona Beach, but spending a lot of time in Fort Lauderdale. I just picked up a Turboant X7 Pro, mainly because it has a removable battery.

I used ESG to review scooter options and decided on this one as a good first scooter. Actually I would have preferred the X7 with the smaller battery and tubeless tires. I clicked on the link on ESG’s site but it no longer works because the X7 is no longer offered, I got the Pro version.
I find the speed just right for zooming around the neighborhood. I have five rental houses and a workshop on the same block that I am always servicing. It’s a long walk back and forth to each house but too short to drive so the scooter is the perfect accessory to save time. I bought the extra battery so one is charging while the other is riding.

In Fort Lauderdale I use it to go around the Las Olas Riverwalk neighborhood. I find the speed control helpful. On a busy walkway I keep it at the lowest setting to have better speed and acceleration control. I use the bell a lot because this scooter is silent. On the 3 mile bike path to the beach I turn up the speed selection button to max. I don’t think I want to go much faster then 20 mph because it feels too unstable. I’ve ridden a lot of two wheeled vehicles (Lime, Nueron, bicycles and motorcycles) and scooters don’t seem to have enough rake and trail to feel relaxed riding it. I would like to see stability discussions in future scooter reviews, that would be a deciding factor for me in purchasing a faster scooter. Thanks for putting together this website.

pallmer Not sure why they dropped the base X7. Though you’re better off with the X7 Pro and get quite a bit more range for just a bit more price-wise.

Scooters are definitely not as stable as bikes and other two-wheeled vehicles. You nailed it with rake + trail, a consequence of tiny tires, compact sizes, and trying to maximize standing space.

I think the Boosted Rev. nailed the geometry as best they could for dimensions, but man there isn’t much standing space on that deck b/c of handlebar intrusion.

Some the. big scooters are quite a bit better, but the tiny tires still require some getting used to and also accepting that a scooters are never going to be as forgiving as the other two-wheeled transportation modes.

pallmer I agree about stability. My first scooter has a removable battery in the neck and front wheel motor. All the weight was in the front, made it unbalanced (higher center of gravity) and unstable. Looks like you may have the same situation with your scooter. Having learned the hard way I now favor scooters with battery under the deck, keeping the weight low which helps the center of gravity issues.

Maybe we’ll pass each other on Las Olas. I’ve ordered a YADEA KS5. Will review delivery & assembly when received. I can see using the lowest speed control in that area. It will get more congested as “season” progresses. Congrats!
