Well, first the logistic problems. VORO Motors has rotten customer service. I ordered the Emove Cruiser from the California location for shipment to Paris, France. I sent them my custom identification number (EORI) in order to ensure that I was properly taxed (necessary documentation to regularize the scooter for LEGAL driving on Parisienne streets).
UPS delivered the goods in two days, impressive. However, it was clear to me that the box was in bad shape prior to UPS receiving it. The box looked like it had been badly handled in the warehouse for some time before it was shipped. Okay… my conjecture, sure. There was a large hole in the bottom of the box… and, a small item was missing from my order. Okay, I accepted that. What was totally shocking, however, was that VORO motors had falsified the bill of lading with a price of 300USD for an order that was over 1800USD. They had marked the goods as “gift” for some incomprehensible reason. I did not receive a proper customs inspection because of the false invoice.
Moreover, in France, any scooter capable of 25 kp/h or more has to be registered (just like an auto) and insured. What was missing from the shipping documents was the EU valid Certificate of Conformity (COC), which is absolutely necessary in order to register the scooter (certificat d’immactriculation), and to obtain insurance for the scooter.
I have repeatedly requested the correct invoice and the COC from VORO Motor, but they have refused to respond to my emails.
I am not at all interested in VORO’s alleged personnel problems. I have spent over $1800 with this company. All I want is a correct official invoice and a valid Certificate of Conformity.
Second, the performance. The front spring suspension is horribly noisy. It was like listening to someone jumping arhythmically on big, rusty springs. The Cruiser’s spring suspension should be covered in a snug rubber sheath from the factory. Or, better, why not hydraulic suspension in the front? Huh…
For the price, the scooter should come factory-fit with REAL street-ready headlamps.
The sleeve around the motor cable was completely shredded off of the scooter copy I received. And, the rear disk brake came out of the box less than perfectly flat. It is something that should have been picked up during the pre-shipment inspections before it was shipped to France. I know, I know… that is what they claim they do. By the way, there was no inspection checklist in the box I received.
The throttle is not good. I have to squeeze about halfway down before the power engages and the motor begins to accelerate. The acceleration is not finely tuned… The slightest touch beyond the throttle’s halfway point sends the machine jumping. On the copy I received, speed 1 reaches 25 kp/h (with my 200 Ibs.); speed 2 reaches 38-40 kp/h; speed three has little effect—I don’t get any additional power. The motor seems to make a bit more noise in speed 3.
