I have been ridding the Y11 around over the long weekend and man this thing is fun! Perfect tool for zipping through the trails and admire the beautiful fall in Ontario.
I did notice one small nuisance - the brake light only comes on when I squeeze the front brake, but not the rear brake (same goes for the little warning sign on the display). I suspect it is not connected properly so will try to open the deck and see if I can fix it. Otherwise the scooter is rock solid.
I figured this might just be the perfect time to try out Yume’s customer service, and so far they are doing just fine. I went on their website, open the chat box and give them my email / order# (only for the first time). They do not reply immediately but the next day which is understandable given the time zone. The instructions are clear, and they offered to send me replacement + connect me to their engineer via Whatsapp for easier diagnosis. We shall see how this going to resolve, but I can feel that they are really trying.
I know the Y11 is one of the many iterations of the rebranded “Chinese modular scooters”, and I can probably save few hundred more bucks buying a similar one off of Aliexpress. But Yume’s short shipping time and the out of box quality plus the fact that I’m able to get help after the initial purchase is just a pleasant surprise.
