YiXin I know this is an old post. But, this response I’m giving might help others, in the future…regarding griptape.
*Anyhow, to remove griptape from anything, weather a scooter to a skateboard…you just need a hairdryer. You take the hairdryer and really heat up the griptape and that softens up the adhesive, making it easy to carefully remove the griptape, sometimes you might want to use the hairdryer while lifting the griptape as you go. It will keep your tape intact. This way you can reapply the tape…like it was never removed. In case it curls up after reapplying the tape, simply put some heavy books on top, until the adhesive sets.
I just ordered the Yume y11, as the previous scooter (Tomofree 11) had the throttle on the right hand grip. So, you have to turn the grip like a motorcycle throttle and I just felt it’s a little dangerous, I flew over the handlebars, thankfully I wasn’t going too fast on the carpeted long hallway on my floor here in New York City. I just hope I’ll be or feel safer on the y11.
