Flat Tire Prevention additives?

I’ve got a couple of e-scooters, one with tire tubes and one that is tubeless. I’m looking for advice on what type of liquid type additive to pump in to help stop flats. (not Slime, but other brands.) Any suggestions?

Armor-Dillo seems to be the one everyone suggests. I went with FlatOut. Reading up on both they are similar in how they are made, both using kevlar. On the “Best of” lists I looked at FlatOut was highly rated on all of them. Armor-Dillo wasn’t on any of the lists, maybe because it’s only available from the manufacturer. The deciding factor was 8 oz. of Armor-Dillo Blue is $30 plus tax and shipping, it was $40, and would take 4 to 5 days for delivery and was good for 2 tires. I was able to get 32 oz. of FlatOut delivered from Amazon for $15.35 plus tax for $16.27 and it was delivered the next day (I am a Prime member). Less than half the price for twice as many tires. If I get a flat it will be hard to say Armor-Dillo would have fixed it, but $80 vs $16.27, I don’t see myself regretting the decision. Good luck!

I actually ordered Armor Dilloz from Minimotors Canada. I didn’t hear about FlatOut until after I got the Armor Dilloz. Since the scooter I ordered turned out to be defective and I’m returning it, I can’t tell you if it works.

You can also add bicycle tire liners to protect against punctures. I bought Mr Tuffy liners from Amazon. They are colour coded to the size of the tire. Since they’re made for bicycles they’re too long for a scooter, so you have to cut them down for length. When shopping for them, you look for the width of your tire. When installing them you have to round off the corners on the end and overlap the ends by about an inch. I have the brown colour which is 2 and a half inches wide.

Another success story from Apollo. OMG. At least with the model you chose, they should have stock and be able to swap it out fast for you. Keep on them if you don’t get good feedback. The weather will be nice starting today so we can try a ride soon… I’ll buy you a Tim’s lol.
I’m going to go for a ride tonight and probably to work tomorrow on the scooter.

PaulN Yeah it’s always a joy to happily take your new scooter out of the box, lug it up onto a table so you can slime and line the tires, only to find out that some donkey at the factory torqued the brake disk screws down so hard they’re completely stripped and embedded into the disk. Especially after waiting an extra two months for the scooter because I wanted hydraulic brakes. Now I’m just waiting for the second one to arrive with the same problem. And I’ve had to light fires under their rumps to do everything. Return shipping label? Two days of emails and chat attempts. They finally sent it today but didn’t schedule the pickup as promised. So finally I went on the FedEx website and scheduled it myself. I guess I should be thankful they didn’t charge me $200 for the return shipping, which is they usually do.

Some sunny Sunday in the middle of the week, I might have a working scooter which I know how to ride well enough to go on a ride with someone else. At least I’ve had time to scope out some places to ride in the Mississauga/Etobicoke area near Centennial Park.

Brings back fond memories of my Apollo experience of last summer and why I bought the Kaabo while waiting for Apollo to get my second scooter. Well at least it made it to work this morning, it’s currently recharging beside me in my office, Lol. Brampton down to Mississauga 25 kms. 50 minutes mostly through the park path system.
I know that area well your talking about. I play ball hockey every Friday in the facility at Centennial park, including tomorrow. That Park system is good too. You can go right up past the west of the airport to Dixie Rd also south to the lake without having to go on roads. That is actually a nice ride. I park at Princess auto - and have rode to Centennial park and back before.

PaulN When I had my ebike/scooter I used to go to the area north of Centennial Park and Eglinton to joyride at night. It’s all streets named after space things like “orbitor”, “satellite” etc. I used to work at the corner of Matheson East and Explorer Drive. The area is mostly office buildings and businesses that are closed at night and the streets are smooth. So I’d take the speed limiter off and rip-ass around those streets. I’m planning to do the same when I get a working scooter. Right now I’d be a little leery about riding on the paths in Centennial Park. They tend to be muddy with occasional lakes at this time of year.

Are you sure you didn’t stop at the Locomotion? Lol.
That’s industrial are so it definitely gets nice and quiet at night. Your right about the park trails. They have a few lightly wet areas but if you slow down to a crawl over them just your wheel gets a little wet.
