DavidSchrimpf Technology is changing quickly and we also tend to focus on the scooters that are new/interesting/popular because that’s what the people want.
Rev is one of my favorite scooters ever, btw. Wish the deck was just a bit bigger. Really unfortunate Boosted went out of business.
For scooters, I second the Cruiser, the Phantom (Gen2 should be released soon, so if you’re not in a rush I’d wait to see how that one turns out), Wolf Warrior X (pending IP rating), and the Apollo Explore might be worth checking as well.
As, @duner mentioned, the Cruiser has the highest IP rating. All others are IPX4 except the Warrior X that has none yet but we’ve heard should have/will get.
If you plan to ride in really heavy rain, I’d take the extra step of going over whatever scooter you get and making sure things are looking really sealed up and even using some clear silicon sealant on suspicious cracks. We’ve ridden all of these scooters in the rain, but definitely not tested in frequent torrential downpours. Kinda crummy to have to go over a new scooter and make sure it’s sealed up, but worth it. Nobody covers water-related damage of any sort, so even if you are using the scooter in conditions appropriate to the IP rating, if it dies that’s going to be your problem.
Re: sine wave vs square wave controllers. I’m sure all scooters >$1000 will get sinewave eventually, but right now we’re mostly seeing this on the big beefy scooters with lots of power that can be very hard to control. All the models I’ve listed (not sure about the Gen2 Phantom though) have squarewave and combined with trigger throttle I’d say starting is all somewhat jerky, but not overwhelming.
