I started riding scooters when I got out of rehab for fentanyl/heroin addiction this august. I got my first scooter, Gotrax Gxl V2 in August just to get from A to B, and then became obsessed with them..did not expect them to be so much fun.. I’m 168 days clean now, my 6 months is just over a week away. I sold the gotrax and currently own the Kugoo G2 Pro, Apollo Ghost, Apollo Air, and am awaiting the arrival of the Varla Pegasus. I didn’t know what I was going to do with myself after rehab…getting high was my only hobby….Completely sober for the first time since i was 16(34 now) and scooters give me that rush of fun while bringing out the kid in all of us. I’m very glad I bought that first Gotrax and started my “electric scooter career” I’ve filled so much time riding, modding, repairing etc. super bummed it’s going to be winter v soon(I’m in Canada)

Anyone with a youtube with scooter content link me and I’ll sub. And if there are any other recovering/ex addicts in the community; well done!!! Anyone currently stuck in active addiction, it gets better, get help and help yourself. It can be done. Cheers.

I have some content but it’s a bit boring. I’m in the Montreal area, so Canada also. We have some above freezing temperatures for the upcoming week I’ll make sure I take advantage of it. 🙂

That is a great post. All the best to you going forward. We have all been affected by addiction even if it isn’t ourselves that is addicted. (losing loved ones never goes away, and the effects from that can be quite devastating as well)

I’m from Ontario but vacationing in fla and I brought my Mantis Pro 10 with me and ride it every day here between 25 and 40 km’s. I get the obsession totally especially with the lockdowns. Happy riding, gear up and be safe and enjoy those 0 to 60 kph rushes on level 5 acceleration mode lol. It’s a blast.
If you ever need someone to reach out for a quick chat, don’t be afraid to reply to one of my posts here.

thanks bro!! yeah it’s freezing here, but we had a lightning storm last night that cleared the streets…im gonna chuck some handwarmers in my gloves and see if I can get out for 15-20km tonight..its 12;30am here, my light should be charged up by 1am. I just uploaded a video from my first ride on the Apollo Ghost at the start of november an hour ago, and having watched it made me itch to go for a ride haha. Can’t wait for summer but I’ll be riding until my hands go numb over winter haha

I’m Brian, and I’m a relative newcomer to escooters with a brief stint with the Unagi E500 and a quick upgrade to the EMove Cruiser (which I’ve been loving so far as 6-foot guy - Unagi wasn’t cutting it). I’m chilling out here in Oakland where I commute to SF a few times per week. I’m trying to find creative ways to incorporate scooting into my commute. I’m also a notice Onewheeler, which is a fun way to get around Oakland.

David from South Philly. I use an Apollo City as my commuter, which I take into my job in a duffel bag. I also use a GXL V2 for shopping in the neighborhood and just picked up an Emove Cruiser. The Cruiser did it’s maiden voyage yesterday, a hilly 34 miler, and it was heaven!

Hi Folks new on the forum and enjoying reading all your posts. I have lots of experience with the smaller type scooter ie XIAOMI and such like so please don’t hesitate to ask anything about these and I will be more than happy to assist. I have came across a big beast of I scooter that someone has asked me to have a look at. It’s a vici (not sure of model) big chunky tyres 48v 15ah battery and it has an error 11 fault on the LCD. Everything powers on just fine ie lights indicators horn is not working but couldn’t say if it ever worked. I have checked the data line from lcd/throttle to the 5 pin connector and all appears fine with continuity on all 5 wires. There isn’t actually a wire coming from the throttle which is confusing it’s just a 5 wire data line so not sure how the throttle actually works. I am wondering if any yous guys have had this problem as I have never working on these bigger type scooters. I am getting 54v reading from battery terminal so I reckon it’s fully charged and if I bypass the intelligent brushless motor controller it still appears the same. So was wondering if the BMS is failing when load is applied and or there maybe dodgy firmware. The scooter does not run and there is good resistance on both motors. Just to mention it’s 1 controller but 2 motors it’s not the greatest underneath the foot pad where all the gubbins are with wiring Ect it dissent have a professional appearance to it but it should still work. Any ideas where I should go from here? Apparat from buying what I reckon is a very expensive new battery lump. I have changed many BMS on XIAOMI type smaller type scooter but this big blue battery is not something that I fancy opening up. Look forward to hearing back from yous and sharing experience and knowledge in the future.

Hello all. I’m 64 years old, live in Palm Beach County Florida, and got my first scooter recently. After doing a lot of research (thanks ESG!), I purchased an Apollo City. It’s light, it’s fun, and I’ve put about 300 miles on it so far.
And yes, I’ve been bitten by the scooter bug so I’ll be looking to upgrade or add on in the near future - especially for more range. It’s good to know there’s a community of riders out there for advice, encouragement, and best of all, who won’t be bored by ‘more scooter talk’.
