Apollo Scooters offers “free shipping” however there is a caveat. When you check out you are offered what they call “Apollo Plus” What this is is an extra charge to get the product to you door safely????? I asked about it and the response i got will baffle you,. They said that the Apollo plus not only insures the product arrives safely to your door(which it should regardless) , but in the event that the scooter is stolen upon delivery or damaged or parts missing you are assure top spot to receive another scooter if stolen or the repair part in a quicker time then those who do not purchase this Apollo plus. I let them know that 1- free shipping is free shipping 2- if the scooter is stolen should never happen if they get a signature 3- we expect the scooter which we shelled out big bucks for to arrive pristine and if not we expect the company to make it right asap not asap only if you paid the “Apollo Plus” money. First come first served basis. Nope now you are put in a class, one that pays the extra and one that does not. They also informed me that i don’t have to purchase this extra ,however if any of the things happen as mentioned above your in for a long wait. I then asked them if there is no claim and the scooter arrives as it should , in pristine condition will they refund my “Apollo Plus” the answer is of course nope. Should a company who is asking top dollar for a product not be expected to deliver just that? Then of course there is the run around , they never directly answer any questions, never give you an estimate on shipping times, just "you will receive an email when its shipped. Everything on their site is overpriced, i recently put in my cart 2 inner tubes just to see what the bottom line is, $66.00 include delivery but not the "Apollo Plus "charge.
I put 2 tubes and 2 tires in my amazon cart and delivered to my door? $57.00. Apollo ? I purchased my scooter (Phantom) 2nd hand and im very happy with it thus far. I have ordered the V3 upgrade kit from Apollo , on the site it said “in stock” called customer service they said it will ship early August. I emailed them today to find out shipping date and received a long winded email back but no mention of any time of the shipping. I always thought that if something was “in stock” its sitting on the shelf but i guess with Apollo it means something different. Although the customer service is prompt they do not answer any question directly or solve any problems just long winded emails that answer nothing. I would hate to be a customer that shelled out all that cash for a new scoot and it arrives damaged , your in for a loooooonng wait to get it resolved. I hope Apollo gets this figured out, set a price and deliver for that price, getting it to the customer is the cost of doing business, dont say free shipping then offer “Apollo plus” If i bought a 3k scooter from them id be afraid not to get the “Apollo plus”
