Sourcing Tubeless Tires for Apollo Phantom (10x3")?

I’m getting random pinch flats every 2nd or 3rd ride, which is not only incredibly frustrating but inconvenient, as I can get stranded. I’ve been trying to source high quality tubless tires. The best I’ve found so far is the RS5 tires that the company sells as parts: https://roadrunnerscooters.com/collections/roadrunner-rs5-and-rs5-parts/products/tubeless-tires-rs5
I asked them for the dimensions and they are 10X3.5″. Does anyone know if that will fit the phantom? If not, any other sources of 10×3″ tires?

MichaelWess I tried for a year. Gave up and made a new tire design. Broke my foot on one of the fail designs.

Isn’t that split rim? If so, you can’t run tubeless. The rims aren’t made for it, and they won’t seal.

2muchcoffee4me Thanks for that info. It is indeed a split rim, didn’t know it wasn’t possible to run tubeless 🙁
Fantastic scooter but the tire flats are killing me. Going to have to look for another solution then.

I have had the same issues with mine - was great for the first few hundred km’s but 3 flats quickly more recently and the tubes supplied by apollo IMO are of poor quality because the failures were not from punctures, but the rubber joint at the valve far away opposite side of tubes from the road surface. Using slime did nothing as well. Probably your best bet would be to replace the wheels with a set of PMT aftermarket upgrade wheels and tubes…

PaulN I bought a set of good quality “winter” knobby tires and have the same issue. Also have tried 5 different brands of tunes and same issue. As well I’ve tried going with 2.125″, 2.5″ and 3″ inner tubes. All go flat :/

Would be great if someone from Apollo could chime in.

I stuck a honey comb tire inside of an off road tire.. putting the hub together and softening the honey comb tire took a while.

Update. After changing the tire, yet again I think I’ve found the problem with the flats. Defective rims. They drilled some of the hub screw holes too close to the edge and they fractured.

Will be sending this to Apollo and see what they say. Scooter is unrideable.

MichaelWess Sharp burr on the edge of that hole. That’ll do it.

I would suggest sanding that down then coating it with a silicone glue/sealer or some kind of liquid rubber that can take some high heat as that rim can get hot when going high speeds on hot days for long periods or long uphill rides

MichaelWess the problems is the tire is not rated to handle the weight plus centrifical force above 10 mph .

The pressure of the tube against the tire is the only thing making the tire spin.

What you do is… buy a honey comb tire that will fit inside a off road tire.. slap some jb weld inside the off road and put the honey comb inside.. boil it and jump on it a few times and then use long bolts and slowly .. very slowly working clockwise tighten untill you can use shorter and shorter bolts.

End results are tires that last the life of the scooter

I am trying to do what you are explaining but don’t understand what you mean by long bolts and get shorter bolts later. Where do these bolts go?
