Hiboy S2 Pro won't turn on after brake light began flashing

Howdy. Living in a city with universally rough roads has done a number on my poor S2 Pro since I bought it in Sept 2021, I’ve done a lot of maintenance and have no clue what is going on here…

The other day, I rode it for ₃-4 miles without any problems – until I braked to stop in front of my house. The brake light + deck LED panel started flashing red when I stopped and kept doing so until I unscrewed the battery compartment lid. I couldn’t connect with the app or turn it off with the power button (and I certainly can’t turn it on now), plus it didn’t register the charger before OR after I opened the battery compartment - so I know it isn’t connecting to power. Before it shut down, there was minor brake resistance that made it difficult to roll – seems like the electric brakes are the problem, or at least part of it.

So far, I have tried: leaving it alone overnight, replacing the 5 amp fuse, checking for wire issues inside of the battery compartment, loosening and tightening the brake cable.

Any thoughts?

hiboy_no_funds I would contact Hiboy directly. Their customer service is very good. Just keep in mind that they are in China, so the reply comes the next day.

It sounds to me like the motor controller has bit the dust. Hopefully Hiboy can confirm or come up with another answer. And hopefully they can supply replacement parts.
