ItsAqua Well I’m getting my share of flats now as well. I got a second flat, this time on the front tire of the Phantom. I also happened to have attempted my longest destination ride when this occurred.
I didn’t really notice the flat at first - just the sound change and then the spongy feeling because I had long open stretches of pathway and was listening to music under my helmet.
To remove the hex bolts from the brake disk and split rim, I used my lighter 12 V electric impact drill with a quality hex bit. This made very short clean work of removing those screws. I noticed they have used blue loctite on both the Mantis and the Phantom which should be medium strength thread-locker normally. I’m actually surprised that there are no torque recommendations for at least the two nuts holding on the hub motors, also for the two bolts holding the brake caliper. I just tried to tighten them up with a similar feel to when removing them. Most people don’t have loctite or even know what it is, or what the different colors mean as well. I could see people having trouble with doing the simple task of a tire change if they don’t have tools other than ones that came with the scooter. They will wind up stripping screw heads or worse. I couldn’t find "Armadilz"quickly, so i used 2 in1 Slime instead, hopefully it will offer decent protection as well. Just hard to judge the amount as some videos say to use 2 to 3 ounces, which for such a small tire seems a little much. Anyone know the optimum amount?
