Under 900 Touring vs Model One

Thinking about buying my first commuter scooter. I have always been about mid range long term products. With that being said, I read the guides for under 900 and under 1200. The Unagi Model One is listed in the under 1200. However, I found the Unagi for 900 at Costco. It is the same price as the EMOVE Touring now.

When comparing these two under the concept of mid range commuter category under $900, which is the better buy for my first electric scooter?

norman try the VSETT 8 as well it’s $900 too with similar specs to the touring. You can also find a $50 discount code for REVRides on some YouTube scooter reviews. The unagi is a better quality built scooter while the touring is a scooter that has good specs while the quality is good but not good like the unagi. The specs for the touring beat the unagi. So if you have like a 12 mile commute round trip I would go with the touring since the unagi has a 15.5 mile max range but in real life you would only get about half of it and terrain and weather also affect the range as well.

they could not be more different, conceptually. What is your expected range to commute and what other trips do you want to take?

GTRXRider expected temp commute would be 2 miles 1 way with some hill climb. However, I am looking for something versatile. I might have a different living situation a year from now.

Unagi E500 has around 12-14km range (likely less, depending on weight/height) tested on this site, whereas the touring has twice that.

Unagi is much lighter tho.

I would go for more weight and range, you might have to haul it up 4 flights of stairs, which would be different or last leg commute or …. Also, do you use it for shopping? Additionally, range will decrease over time and with wind. Wind cuts my speed down by 30% and limits the range. So i guess, i should have calculated with 50% of the tested range for such cases, too (not just low wind and warm).
