Scooter for the wife.

So I’m looking for a scooter for my wife and son to ride. We have a black top park and path to ride on. So looking for 25 mph, 20miles plus range, and the widesst deck possible. Any ideas?

Just throwing it out there: Hope your range is not the maximum range you came up with but with buffer. I calculated with the range and “ah, very close, all good” (spoiler: not enough to be comfortable).

GTRXRider thanks for the info. We ended up going with the Emove touring. This is purely for joy riding since we dont live anywhere close where this would be practical. The speed is 24/25mph, the range is 32 miles and the deck is 7 inch wide which is a couple inches bigger then normal beginer scooters. So this will be perfect for her to keep up with the rest of the fam.

I own a touring, and it is light enough for me, but at 40 lbs it is still a hefty thing to lug on and off the train and in into the trunk. Once you get over 20lbs you need to make sure you are using good mechanics to lift especially for people that are not as fit.

My little research on esg put the E-TWOW GT 2020 at the top for price, speed, range, and 30 lbs WEIGHT . I hope to buy it for my girl at some point (hopefully they update it). It can carry 280lbs as well so I could use it as a back up for myself too. Range is 15.2 mi vs 18.7 mi for touring, but if weight is a factor your options are limited.

Remember, after about 8 mph there is no safe egress from the scooter, you will fall so gearing them up should be part of the cost calc.

40s that’s true but even I struggle carrying a 33lbs scooter. I think my problem is that it’s long and the weight of the scooter seems to shift back and forth. Either that or I have puny arms

Dude you have to get the carry handle, having a wrist injury because you are holding onto a stiff bar while maneuvering through a tight doorway or into the trunk is going to make you feel really silly.

I use the “Epessa Hand Carrying Handle Strap for Kick Scooter Electric Scooter Folding Bike” it is on amazon for like 12 bucks.

I am 6′1 218lbs and I can see it injuring if done carelessly, one just must remember mechanics and being deliberate over speed.

40s I definitely will get that when I get a new scooter I don’t feel like dropping anymore money on my current one because of its current issue
