40s I bought the motorcycle helmet knowing that it might be heavy and hot in the summer. But I’m in Canada where the weather is more often cold than hot. Where I live, we only get a few odd weeks of truly hot weather in the summer. I’ve ridden ebikes enough to know that “hot” can get cold very fast when you’re going over 30 kph, and wind becomes an eye irritant even with standard glasses and without bugs. However, I’ve also looked at the mountain bike helmets with chin guards. If I use one of those I will use them with the goggles I bought when I was ebiking.
I bought a motorcycle jacket with knee, spine and shoulder pads and a removable liner. That way I should be able to wear it even in summer. I bought motorcycle pants which are light weight material and can be worn over jeans in cooler weather. They also have knee and hip pads. Again, if they are too hot for summer I can always buy standalone pads.
Re the footwear, I read a post by someone who had a Wolf Warrior and wiped out at high speed. He mentioned that his motorcycle clothing protected him but one of his ankles got scratched up. That was why I wondered if other escooter riders wore ankle protection. I won’t be going as fast as a Wolf Warrior, so I will just use sturdy shoes.
