Last week in Tampa, Florida, sixty-two e-scooters were pulled out of the Hillsborough River in a cleanup coordinated by non-profit organization Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful. This was the fourth river clean-up Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful has coordinated and, in total, 190 electric scooters have been removed from the river.
Is this a problem elsewhere? Do people have no respect? I’m new to scooters and am appalled that something like happens - not only on general principle but also considering it provides fuel to the anti e-scooter proponents. Where I live in Palm Beach County, scooter rental laws are coming under deep scrutiny and companies are currently unable to offer scooter rentals until laws are clarified. Incidents like this don’t help push e-mobility.
