hello everyone. I loved the Liveshow and wanted to know what your take on the eskootr racing league is? legit new motorsport or marketing stunt? as a lifelong racing fan I’m excited to see PEVs get brought into this but I think launching a racing league is pretty big $ and economics of it seem almost unsustainable for such scooters that are so new to everyone.

any thoughts?

Slatherus My take is that it’s a bit of both. I think it’s pretty uncertain as to whether a racing league like this is economically viable at the moment, but these guys are taking a smart approach and testing it out through marketing. I bet if things go well and they get positive signals (public interest, funding, etc) it will become a real deal thing.

Slatherus They’ve been advertising a LOT, saying they’re the “first racing league”. But i’m pretty sure Rion has a racing league. And Rion scooters are far faster than those silly toys the “eskootr” guys are touting (the silly spelling kinda bothers me too)

There’s an abandon golf course here in Rio rancho New Mexico, it’s huge crosses a half a dozen streets and neighborhoods surround it. All the golf cart trails are blacktop better than our local roads with hills a tunnel and I’m having a blast. If I hit the lottery you just might see the first scooter race track.

Santaskip Very interesting! Their marketing material makes it look like they are going to run these races in giant racetracks like what you might see in F1 … although I guess it’s all just CGI.

Very cool though .. and lucky for you when you want to hop on it and do some speed runs. What equipment are you riding on?

You guys had some tough customers in the live chat who weren’t pleased with the list … except I think everyone was happy about #1 Wolf Warrior 11.

However, audience voted list is … well audience voted so it is what it is.

I think #2 Unagi Model One was the big shocker for everyone, but the people who love them love them.

We’re actually interviewing Dakota Schuetz from ESC in a couple weeks, and will air the interview on our April 13th live show, I really hope they can get it going. In the mean time I’m writing some articles about racing, and will continue to follow the racing scene.

Unagi surprised me for sure, not because it doesn’t deserve a spot in the top 12, but I just don’t hear folks talking about them that much lately. Could be just that the design has been around for a little while.
