Phantom 60v city riding, too much?

First time poster here.

I am in the market for upgrading my scooter. I currently have a Gotrax GMax Ultra (max speed 20mph, ₂₅ mi range) but was looking for something a little bit faster. I decided on the Apollo Phantom 52v v2, as I value ride comfort and features pretty highly as well. Would the Phantom 60v, with its Ludicrous (lol) acceleration, be too much for the stop and go traffic of city riding? I’m also worried that the excessive torque will make it difficult to ride slowly (for example, standing on the scooter and LIGHTLY pushing down on the throttle to “maintain” pace with a person walking next to me).

The 52v is on preorder at the moment and I’ve been told that it will start shipping in mid January, where as the 60v will not be available until mid 2022. I’m leaning towards keeping my order for the 52v, as that is the option that will actually allow me to get the scooter in a reasonable timeframe and it seems to serve my needs perfectly, but $2000+ is a lot of money, and I want to make sure I don’t have any regrets with my purchase.

For in town riding you could save some money buying an Apollo Explore, which I own and enjoy.

I’ve only ridden the (non-Ludicrous) Phantom once and did not like it because that specific one had issues with nonlinear power, every time I touched the throttle at low speed it bolted forward and was difficult to control. It belonged to an experienced scooterhead so I assumed he had performed a good setup but he hated the scooter as well and could not wait to get rid of it. An issue such as that may have been fixed in newer models and some scooterheads are happy with the Phantom so maybe my one-off experience was a fluke.
