So I set out to find the fastest scooter, and for the price, I am pleased with the Laotie es19. However, iam certain that in stock form, top speed is unobtainable… at least with my lightning quick reflexes, I was not willing.
I think ive found the solution and at least should help anyone else attempting to conquer this mere machine, survive!
Im still testing and havent finalized the mods, but for 120$ and some relatively minor modification, ive got this thing riding like a cadillac! and so far, handleling all of the manhole covers, storm grates, crappy sidewalk, bottomless potholes, etc… like the crusher that it is, except like gliding on ice. Theres nothing like rocking thru an intersection pacing traffic at 30 or so, and catching air on a manhole cover right in front of a cop… priceless.
A couple of low end mtb shocks and correcting the geometry on the famed shimmy damper seems to have done the trick. i also found it necesary to ditch the finger throttle for a hommade old school twist throttle allowing me to adjust the power delivery as well…
