Range for Wolf King GT

The Wolf King GT has a tested range of about 53 miles HOWEVER, as an East Bay rider, do you think that it is possible to ride from Walnut Creek to Berkeley and back on a single charge. According to Google maps it is 22 miles each way and 1220 ft of vertical each way… I realize that it is only 44 miles however, I am concerned about using up too much juice going over the Berkeley Hills twice!

Things to consider: Taller rider, more resistance, more elevation, less range. Why not testing the range in proximity for riding closer to home and see if GPS tracker says “ok, works” or “that is dead early”?

Well, I finally received my Wolf King GT from Voro Motors. Unfortunately, i Broke my arm two weeks ago and it will be a few months before I can actually ride it. I cannot say how pleased I am with Voro motors. Their sales and support has been amazing. I am however, extremely frustrated
that I cannot ride my new scooter.

Sorry about the arm! I’ve been there. I broke my left wrist trying to ride a Wolf King one handed a year ago The GT is a much more civilized beast, in spite of being much quicker! There is only one scooter we have ever tested that will go further and that’s the Thunder II.

For your chosen purpose, there is no better scooter in the world than the Wolf King GT though.

Super curious to hear about your commute. I think medium range scooter commuting is an awesome way to save a TON of money.

The main thing is going to be your average speed.

I was averaging 19.8 mph including speeding up and slowing down for stop signs. My typical speed between stop signs was in the low 30’s.

Our friend Alex Simon said that when he was scooting across America, that range would nosedive above 25mph.

Since Covid, I have been working from home and only need to go into the city (San Francisco) once or twice a week so, my work commute is out of the question. However, the short trips to the grocery, pet, and hardware store are certainly more enjoyable and I can tell that I am saving a bunch in gas. This spring when everything is healed up, I want to see if I can ride over the hill to get to Berkeley and back. I have range anxiety but I think that If I start with short trips and gradually increase, I will have a better feel on what I can do in terms of range.
