Anyone have experience with the Segway Ninebot external battery for $250?
Claims: “compatible with the Ninebot KickScooter by Segway ES1 & ES2 & E22. Increases the range of the ES1, ES2 & E22 to 27.9, 28 and 27 miles respectively. It also increases the speed of the ES1, ES2 & E22 to 15.5 mph, 18.6 mph and 15.5 mph respectively.”

I really like the E22’s FlatFree Tire Technology (unlike common solid tires, it fills the inner tube with a new PU foaming material) and haven’t come across other scooters with this type of maintenance free tire. I wish the E22 was just a tad faster, so the external battery is tempting if the claims are accurate, but it’s also rather pricy if the boosted speed doesn’t live up to the claims (E22+ext.battery=~$750). Any thoughts/advice would be awesome. Thanks y’all

djND I see there’s a way to “flash” upgrade the speed, but I only have a Mac at the moment and am new to electric scooters, so I’m wondering if this battery would suffice. PS, got a price drop on Amazon for the E22 now only $450

Wow! It’s down to $399 now! (see link below) That’s the lowest I’ve ever seen. (ignore the preview. I’m seeing $399 once I click through)

Here’s everything I know about the E22. The scooter automatically gets a faster top speed when you install the battery. Unlocking it further gains almost nothing, once you have the external battery.

Are you in the US? If so, you can buy a used battery off ebay for around $80 shipped.

Also, if you have a Target red card, they send you coupons. I was able to use a 25% off toys for the Segway E22. Got it for around $285. They had it on sale for $399 at the time.
