Is the new Voro Mantis really capable of 45 mph?

I’ve been reading for a year or more that the Mantis advertises a max speed of 40 mph, but ends up doing 37 - 39 mph. Now Voromotors says their new models reach 45 mph. And I’ve heard from others that recent models can reach 43 mph (not only Voro’s).

In all cases it’s always 2000w motors.

What allows the higher speed? The controllers?

And are Voro’s claims tested?

Our top speed measurement for the Pro is 37 mph and 39.3 for the base model.

Our newest unit is more than a year old, so it’s possible that they have updated since then.

Top speed is mainly a function of how much current the controllers will push (times voltage = power). Sometimes we’ll run into a scooter with a firmware limit on top speed, but that’s pretty rare in the US market for light heavyweight scooters (like the Mantis).

These are the curves from our top speed runs (north and southbound runs on flat ground averaged together to cancel our headwind/tailwind)
