Bad experience with inokim!

So I had to post on the forum purly to seek any advice on my light 2.
So this is my second light 2 now as the first one had a fault and the company I purchased it through couldn’t even diagonse the problem of what actually broke in it even after chaging sin controller and things.
So this time it is different from before on my new light 2, so all been fine with it just hit 200km on it yesterday an been running it in mode 2 purly to see what range I could get from it (just to add it been running fine and I’ve had no issues) not been in bad or wet weather either. But half hour ago I went to go for a ride on it and got to front door it powered on it had 3 bars of battery an I selected mode 2 as stated eco running it then I got around 4 foot an the power went and it turned off it now won’t power on. I thought I try charge it to see if that would help. So plugged it in and yet the power box on charger is indicated green light as if not on charge or fully charged but I know isn’t fully charged as when it turned on for the 30secs tonight it was on half battery. So it now looks as if I will be returning another light 2 with a fault to pure-electric-scooters who I bought it off to get it looked at again. Or dose anyone have any ideas that may help without me sending it off as last time it took over 5 weeks and it my daily commute to work.
Also is inokim known for its faults and them breaking as this is my second one and I’ve done everything by the book to keep it in top condition and working order. And if anyone has communication with pure-electric-scooters from the UK please let me know as I need to get it sorted or worst case I get a refund and get a different brand maybe a emove as heard only good things on them

Inokim are generally known for having decent quality, but maybe the Light 2 is an exception.

These types of posts are important to let buyers beware because consumers are assaulted with overwhelming positive reviews and YouTube channels that are actually commercials disguised as reviews. In addition to internet research I recommend staying informed by ESG, Ginger on Wheels, Alien Rides, Jimmy Chang and the other legitimate reviewers out there.

I also thought Inokim had high quality designs but I’ve only ever tested one model, the OX, so you never know. Please continue to update on this forum so we can follow your story.

So the first one yes was bit delayed but excellent service that they provided to me an was quick an solving the old one, just stressful getting a new scooter an it stopped working already its very odd I get that the light 2 is there cheapest an there budget scooter but I didnt expect it to get a failure like it has very odd as I’ve had little look an all seems good inside to me so just at a lose end. I am thinking maybe get a full refund an put extra towards another scooter brand I really want a apollo ghost an also been looking at vsett 9+ thoughts on these two scooters.
Will post once hear from pure-electric-scooters an what is wrong with it

TheEniGm17UK I personally think of the Inokim lineup as being a premium one where you pay more for less specs but get better quality and really refined design. I know we’ve had really good experiences with our Light 2, but I’m wondering if Inokim’s lower-end models have some systemic quality issue.

So any ideas on what escooter would be better for realibity as I’ve had two inokim light 2 models both which have had faults and stopped working the first one they couldn’t even find what the fault was even after changing parts like the sin controller so was sent back to manufacturer. But my 2nd one is now sent back to pure-electric-scooters to be looked at as is still under warranty. So within the next week or so I will update on here for u all to follow my progress.

I think the most comparable scooters are:

Unagi Model One
E-TWOW Booster GT

Both have their downsides, compared to the Light 2, though (solid tires), but are faster which might be nice.

In fact, these two along with the Light 2, I consider to be the best in the “ultra-portable” category … though you’re experience with the Light 2 has not been reassuring.

I don’t know if it fits your use case but for reliability I like the Segway Ninebot Max. Additionally, the Fluid Freeride Horizon is both portable and reliable.

It sounds like the battery has disconnected itself from the world, either via a fuse or a BMS issue. Let us know what you learn.

@TheEniGm17UK hey man i just had the same issue with my inokim light 2 the other day stumbled across this forum trying to find a solution, was riding and it just shut off only one bar down on the battery. I got it home a put it on the charger hoping it would fix the issue. Charger showed red so it was charging but turned green shortly after because after all it was only down one bar. After i saw it was fully charged i tried to turn it on again with no luck, also let it sit over night because idk hopes and prayers it would just work in the morning. Just bought the thing, only 37km on the ODO, purchased it about week and a half ago. More than likely just going to return it , for a scooter this new to already be having issues dont want to deal with it might as well get the full refund while i can with no issue, though i was very pleased with it up until this point. Any update on what the issue was?

My issue is once plugged in the charger flashes both green and red and never turns a solid green. The display shows 56.5v but it’s a 65v battery. I tried a different charger and it did the same thing flashing both red and green. Faulty battery I presume? Any ideas on what might be causing it? Thanks.

Oh yeah well I paid cash for mine and never even seen it never even got it try to cancel it never got no refund never got the scooter screw them

JamesThompson was that the shop out of Florida? Contact Sebastian and see if he can help you out. If you have a receipt and its legit then they will fix the issue. My issue was resolved and he made it happen for me. Good luck!
