Possible to swap out the Finger Throttle for a Thumb Throttle?

Is it possible to swap out the Finger Throttle for a Thumb Throttle on a Varla Eagle One? The Varla appears nearly identical to the Zero 10X (they both have a 6-pin connector for the Throttle).

If it’s possible, where can I buy a 6-pin thumb throttle that would work on a Zero 10X (which should also work on the Varla)

I haven’t had my hands on a Varla Eagle One, but my understanding is that it’s basically a Zero 10X. My main concern would be the connectors and it sounds like you’ve confirmed that they are the same. Based on that I’d give it a 90% chance of plugging in and working. Make sure you get one that also has the display attached, since ditching the trigger means ditching the display!

I to got the Varla Eagle One, I swapped out the finger throttle for the thumb throttle instead. Here is where I bought mine from. It’s the best hands down.

I just rotated mine 180 degrees and it became a thumb throttle, (lost the display though, but no more cramping hands in winter)

I have trigger on my mantis, thumb throttle on my Phantom, thumb throttle on my original ES2 Ninebot. I really don’t mind either, and i can switch one day to the next without any issues or complaints, I ride round trip to work 50kms per day through all terrains to get to work and back. One part of the journey is a short cut through a forest trail. I do use the cruise function when i can. I don’t find finger or thumb fatigue in that distance at all - even in 3 hour long rides which i have done.

What do people find so negative about the trigger throttle for example on the EYE controllers, that the want to change it?

For me, a trigger throttle tires out my right hand faster because I can only use two fingers and my thumb to hold onto the handlebar. My index finger is operating the throttle and the finger next to that is on the brake lever. The pot holed streets we have around here really give me a workout. Because I’ve been riding motorcycles for decades, I much prefer a twist throttle which allows doesn’t stretch my fingers out as much and allows a better grip.
