Yes, air filled tires give you better range than cheap solid ones and maybe better ride quality. But, consider that there is tubeless and tires with tubes.
My gotrax with tubes, i had a pinch flat with my rear tire (tireslime did not solve it) and solid tire solved that problem.
Finally this year, my front tire got a puncture, slime solved it and i got home without any problems, but i changed it because treads worn down. With a cheap solid one. I did it myself, so only costs for the tires.
That is the thing, i bought the cheapest tires from amazon, not good solid tires. And if you want more traction or so, tubeless tires may be good.
So, do not rule out good solid tires.
