Hover H1 Alpha won't turn on?

We purchased a Hover H1 Alpha for my college son who was recovering from ACL surgery in Jan of 2020. When Covid hit he had used it for 3 months. It was left in his dorm and movers brought it back home. It hadn’t been used in almost 18 months. I charged it and the charger was red then turned green. Unfortunately, I did not know I shouldn’t leave it charging. Now it won’t turn on. Is there anything we can do to save it? It’s practically brand new. Thank You!

Hi Cynthia, unfortunately the scooter might be gone. Leaving it charging isn’t good for it, but probably not the problem. If the scooter was unused for such a long period it’s likely that the battery fully discharged beyond its lower limit which will kill it.

If it’s not powering up / functioning correct after trying to charge, this is my guess as to what happened. You could always try reaching out to Hover and see if they are willing to do anything. The battery probably needs to be replaced.

CynthiaAdamsHarrison The only thing i’d try is disconnecting the battery leave for 30 mins or so and then try reconnecting.
My first scooter I left for over 6 months without use after getting my second scooter (as you do) - I tried charging it up but it wouldnt charge, the charger just went green. So I disconnected the battery, left it for 30mins, then reconnected it and tried charging again and it worked. Charged fully with no issue.
You situation maybe slightly different having left it charging, but still worth a try I’d say.
The prcoess is pretty simple, but if unsure any bike place or machanic should be able to help you out if need be

Timotis Awesome advice. My average for resurrecting scooters with completely discharged batteries is 0/2 but a good tip to try for a dead scooter.

justin Yes the % are against resurrecting batteries from dead, Sadly, having it left pluged in will work agaisnt Cynthia, I may have been very lucky also with mine. I almost just throw the scooter out without trying, so it could be worth ‘just giving it a go and hoping for the best’…… You never know…
