Will Xiaomi 365 return?

After months of careful deliberation and YouTube videos and reading reviews I FINALLY decided to take the plunge and buy a Xiaomi 365 scooter. Ordered from Amazon September 6. 2 weeks later got a notification that there were no scooters available. So now what? I have 2 choices I guess: Wait for something to change and the scooters become available or decide to choose a different scooter. I really had my heart set on the Xiaomi. Does anyone know what’s going on with their supply problem? Thanks for answering.

SantaCruz This has been happening basically since COVID started. Still having supply chain issues. I checked camelcamelcamel.com and if you’re shopping from US Amazon, I think the M365 is way overprice now anyway:

$399 to $499 is the sweet spot for that scooter. Above $499, you’re getting into Apollo Air territory, which is better scooter for that price.

The M365 will definitely come back onto Amazon, if your heart is 100% set on it. The price will go down too, at some point. I’m guessing they crank it up when they have fewer in stock.

Justin - thanks so much for the timely informative reply. I think perhaps I should have “introduced myself” a bit so that you would get a better picture. I checked out the Apollo scooters and they excel in areas which I don’t think line up with my priorities. They do seem like more fun, and beefier and faster than the Xiaomi 365. I like the 365 for it’s sleek design, light weight and dependability. Don’t need a fast scooter - I am 73 and slow and steady suit me just fine. Thanks so much for talking about the high price. I did start out thinking this was a $400 scooter and I was about to pay $600 for it. Hopefully you are right and the price will come down when it becomes available again. I am willing to wait a month or 2 but after that I will be cranking up the ESG reviews and charts to pick my alternate choice. Again, thanks a million. You guys are awesome!

Got sick of waiting. Realized I was willing to spend too much money on the Xiaomi. Saw an $80.00 coupon for Gotrax XR Elite. Decided to go with it. Paid $457.00 tax included. Hoping their customer service is better than it has been. Does anyone have any recent info about their after-purchase service. Am I heading for trouble?

SantaCruz Gotrax owner here. I posted my experience with GOTRAX not long ago: https://forum.electric-scooter.guide/d/291-gotrax-has-the-worst-customer-service-ever. They have no customer service and an F rating from the BBB as proof.

SantaCruz I had a Gotrax XR Elite for 8 months. It was sturdy, I only had a flat. I put over 800 miles on it and it was working well. Don’t know about customer service, a lot of people are complaining about it, but their scooters themselves seem to be good, usually.
Speaking of customer service, sometimes it’s great. My flat, I asked them for an inner tube but they said they didn’t have one at the time and sent me an entire wheel, FREE. I’m in Canada but I’ve heard of similar experiences by US customers.

i have not used their service, because why bothering? I can change flat tyres myself. The stem/handle bars are not 100% aligned with the front wheel but quite a bit outside their extremely short warranty.

Fun fact, Ireland, UK, Scotland have 5-6 year consumer law (NOT warranty, but hey) and the EU mandates 2 years. So, they can still demand proof after 6 months (this is minimum warranty in the EU, like warranty the first 6 months) that the failure was theirs.

So, wish they had that in North America, so that Gotrax had not that short a warranty.

Thank you DonL and everyone who replied. I cancelled the Gotrax with Amazon. Fortunately, they were able to cancel the order. Just didn’t feel right. So today I was at Costco and lo and behold, they were selling Segway Ninebot Max G30LP for $659.00. So I bought one. Tired of thinking about it - tired of missing out on riding. I hope I made the right decision and now all I need is a good helmet and IM OFF! Have no idea what there after-purchase customer service is like, but because they are Segway I am more hopeful. SANTACRUZ OUT!!!

SantaCruz Awesome! That’s a good scooter and think you got a good deal on it (and great return policy if something goes wrong that won’t get resolved … though Segway has a decent reputation for handling repairs from what I’ve heard).

The G30LP is nice, I’ve done a couple hundred trouble free miles this summer on mine, that’s a pretty good price as well.

Thanks Justin and all the feedback from all. Bought a helmet today and rode the scooter a couple of very fun miles. I wonder if anyone has been able to devise a way of locking it. Would definitely increase the possibilities of use. Also, because I am not tech savvy AT ALL, I don’t know how access more info and settings on the app. I struggled with it and couldn’t find if there was a way to, for instance, change the km/hour to MPH. Shouldn’t there be more settings?

On the bottom bar of the app touch “Me”. then in the upper left corner, there is a little hexagon icon, touch that and scroll down to Imperial /Metric System and change it. 😀
