Dualtron City “safest scooter”? I think this is actually a good call from Minimotors, pushing the safety aspect.

It’s a Dualtron, people know it’s going to be fast and fun. It’s totally not for me, I feel completely safe on my Dualtron Victor with its 10″ tyres, but there are plenty of people out there on social media banging on about how bigger wheels = more stability, safer etc. Minimotors is giving this crowd what they want, and marketing it as such.

JamesTron I’m a fan, but will have to see in person to have final decision. At some point, as tires grow and scooters get larger, you end up with an e-bike. E-bikes are great, but obviously don’t have the same benefits as scooters.

62″ and 91 lbs is a lot of scooter, definitely going to be stable and track well. Seems it’s almost getting to the level of e-moped/scooters, which are also getting very interesting these days. Interesting concepts, the e-bikes are getting miniaturized like scooters, and the scooters are being up-sized like the e-bikes. I got rid of my 20″ folding e-bike because at 75lbs and folded, it was still a pain to carry, and would not fit in my car. Before getting the scooters, I seriously eyed the 12″ wheel e-bikes, some of them have very impressive performance. Good times. 😆

you need some better images of the Dualtron city, but I would consider. small tires on my zero 9 have cause me many near misses. you don’t realize when you start riding how vigilant you have to be. especially if your roads aren’t perfect which is basically every city ever. I think its cool that MiniMotors is introducing this and hoping it leads too lighter scooter with bigger tires.

Scooter with bigger than 11 inch wheel is what I am looking for. This dualtron is not exactly how I imagine the perfect scooter for me, but its closest I could find. I wonder what the price will be. My ideal scooter would have 12-13 inch wheels, enough power to reach about 30kmh uphill in my city and battery for real life >40km range. Folding mechanism that allows folding scooter and draging it in upright position conveniently as luggage so it fits into narrow spaces like elevator etc without having to carry it in hands since it would be quite heavy. It should have a good antitheft both electronic and mechanical system. Some alarm, disabling electronics and maybe steering and wheel locking mechanism so I could leave it unatended in front of store etc. I wasnt able to find such scooter on market yet.

After riding the Wolf Warrior 11 for about year and then upgrading to the Dualtron X2, I realized that larger tires, in my opinion and experience, definitely have a greater benefit for a rider over 200 lbs, like myself. In most cases, bigger tires often comes with a larger suspension system and this makes for a much safer ride in my opinion. Thus far, the Dualtron X2 has been a perfect scooter for me because its weight combined with its motorcycle grade suspension makes for a quite comfortable ride on its 13 inch tires.

I hope they have made the rear fender longer. The X2 rear fender doesn’t cover the rear tire when the rider is on the deck because the fender moves with the rear suspension travel.

WilliamJolly Agreed. I’ve went on plenty of rides where I returned with muck all over my pants. The X2 can definitely use a mudguard upgrade.

I think he mentioned using the Toronto E-scooter club Facebook group, so maybe he joined that - i believe they have an active group and do group rides. I don’t Facebook, twitter, or tic toc. So i guess i miss out. 🙂

A real brick and mortar electric scooter store opened up in Northern VA called Wyrd Ryds and they carry Dualtrons. I might just go up there and check a City out one day. Hang out with my sisters old roommate, play some pinball and take a Dualtron City out for a spin. This store also sells Emove so I also want to see a Road Runner in person. Trying to get my wife to try a Road Runner on for size. I post a reply when I get around to going up that way.

sc00ter nobody in Norfolk owns a dualtron or any high powered electric scooter I think we are the only ones and a few others I seen that own scooters that goes faster than 30 mph

Love the Dualtron Citry. Smooth acceleration, comfortable ride. Less concerned about NYC bumpy streets. Very stable ride.
