Kaabo Mantis 8 Dual 500 Watt

I didn’t see any reviews for this particular model. Just picked one up and would like to know anyone else’s opinion about this scooter. I bought it because I live in San Francisco and my MacWheel Pro cannot handle the hills around my new apartment Downtown. The Mantis has no problems with the hills and the ride is amazing compared to the MacWheel.

ThomasHando It’s a great scooter – we do actually have this model and did review it a while back. It also goes by the “Mantis 8 Pro” monicker to distinguish itself from the base single motor “Mantis 8”.

You definitely made a good choice … enough power to have fun and zip up those SF hills, but still practical and not an over-the-top 60 mph monster.

Sounds like you’re liking it so far. Any complaints?

justin Is the 500 watt duel 8 a China knock off as I did not see this on the official kaabo.com website.? I think I heard ESG say something about its not really from kaabo but kaabousa which is a different company. Just don’t want to get dupped if I have a problem with it as its an expensive purchase for me. Please assist.

GmichsM Interesting .. this is the first I’ve heard any call the dual-motor Mantis 8 not an “official” Kaabo.

A bunch of retailers, worldwide seem to carry the dual-motor Mantis 8.

In UK, Beyond PEV carries a dual motor version that they call “Mantis 8 Pro”.

I somewhat assume that it is a legit Kaabo if a bunch of legit retailers are carrying it and calling it that, but I’ll ping some Kaabo experts and see if anyone knows anything different.

I haven’t heard much about kaabousa, but it looks like they are also carrying a dual motor version of the 8.
