I have recently purchased a Hover1 Blackhawk. While I have enjoyed riding it, it has become apparent that it is not the perfect model for my unique physical needs. I am short (5′2″) and have a condition that allows for very little movement in my knees.
When I was younger, I had a kick scooter very much like the Mongoose Expo but with a wider deck. I have seen a number of electric scooters that have a similar design but they all seem to be only available outside the US. The only two versions I have found that are/(might be) available are the Razor EcoSmart and the Greenger G16.
The Razor seems decent enough until reading several reviews about defective parts and reliability issues. (Also, I would like a bit wider handlebar.)
The Greenger actually did seem perfect and I was ready to purchase one direct from the manufacturer. Their website price was best and I prefer to avoid giving Bezos anything I don’t have to. Unfortunately, the phone number listed on Greenger’s website is disconnected and they have not replied to e-mail. So, I am not ready to shell out $800 for a product that may not still be available.
This all leads me to the question: are there any other similar models out there?
Ranked by relevance, the most important factors to me are:
1) Wide deck - preferably around 10″
2) Handlebar height (around 40″) and width (20″ would be ideal)
3) Larger wheels (love the 16″)
4) Price under $1,000 would be great or at least not too much over
5) Speed and distance are not major factors but cruising at around 15mph for 10-20 miles sounds good
Does anyone have suggestions?
