Ninebot Max scooters can be pretty weird with the throttle. One really odd thing about them, is that if you push the throttle and then kick with your foot to get going, it will ignore you. Most other scooters allow the rider to do it in this order. Since you’ve had it for a little while, this probably isn’t the problem, but just wanted to cover it. Kick first with no throttle and then try throttle. Better yet, put the scooter up on a crate and try all of this while sitting still. Make sure the scooter is unplugged though. Most scooters won’t go when plugged in.
Next thing to check is to see if your brake lights are on all the time. Turn the scooter on, squeeze the brakes and see if the tail light blinks or gets brighter. If there is no response from the tail light when you squeeze the brakes then the brake light switch may be stuck on and this will kill the throttle.
