really bad experience with Roadrunner scooters

bought the D6+, was excited after doing alot of reserach .. started out good, but then …. became a complete customer service disaster that forced me to pour $2000 down the drain. They never resolved my bropken product and safety issue despite always saying they would. had to buy a second one because the first one arrived with an unsafe busted brake that several months in was not able to be fixed. a huge mess. After a messy back and forth I gave up. Roadrunner told me to “lose the attitude”. i had to pay the #1 local bike shop in ATL out of pocket after theyd had for 4-6 weeks and couldnt resolve the brake issue working with RoadRunner directly - Roadrunnr had said they would pick up that tab from day one. Had been without a properly working scooter for almost 4 months and the summer was halfway through, I gave up and was forced to buy another one ats its my primary source of getting food and to work. Run dont walk, see my detailed reviews of this situation on youtube, BBB and Google Reviews. Do not trust.

Anyone know anyone in Atlanta that could repair this Chinese-made product at all?

JeffRoberts have you tried filling a claim with your credit card company against roadrunner? makes me mad to hear that you got fleeced by bad sellers 😠

just lurking around on social media ive also seen some pretty bad stuff about nanrobot. snapped stems, failing parts and so fourth. sounds like not a great manufacturer and i guess they pair up with bad sellers. their scooters are SERIOUSLY fast for the $$$

Man I’m sorry that happened to you. I ordered a new Fiebor QO6 and it was awesome at first, still is. But mine came with a bad battery. Manufacturer in China didn’t want to send me a new one but after going back and forth with them etc. they finally have one in the mail being sent me. I love the scooter. Just haven’t been able to ride it but about 20 minutes before the battery dies. It’s 60v, 30Ah and 5,600W. I got it mainly because my other one wouldn’t even pull a slope. This thing has hauled ass every hill I’ve gone up. Steep ones. So when I get my battery I’ll be happy. Did you buy another RR? Or go with something else? I like the Yume R7. It’s sharp.

For mechanical issues, bike shops (ones that work on e-bikes) might be your best bet, though sounds like you’ve been through that one.

Most regular bike shops are unfortunately too elitist or too worried about liability to touch electric scooters, even for simple issues that they could easily handle.

justin that makes total sense. when it arrived the left hydraulic brake handle ws just totally locked up. I didn;t know any better until people started tell ing me that was bad and its dangerous until i fix it. all the parts were replaced and they even got a custom bleed kit for the nanrobot, but it wouldn;t bleed. I’m obviously ok with replacing whatever it takes but will struggle to find someone that knows how to do it to your point.

So when you got it, you say the brake handle was totally locked up? You mean the brake handle wouldnt move or couldnt be pulled?

hi! yes the handles was completely locked, couldn’t squeeze it at all. they got the unique bleed kit just for the nanrobot, but said the lines would not rid themselves of any fluid. I don;t realyl know much about this tuff tbh. just wanted it to work and be safe.

JeffRoberts So looks like they have Nutt brakes, which would use mineral oil, I dont see any issue with draining the lines of oil if they had opened the bleed holes both on the brake handle and also the bleed hole on the brake caliper, this should let the oil run free

Question - On the brake handle there is a little screw (inbetwen the brake hand its self and the handbar - see picture) that tightens and loosen the brake handle, you adjust this with an allen key - Have you tired this? If this was tightened all the way in, the handle would be hard to pull like you say and it would also move the brake pads in the caliper right up to the disc rotor leaving mininal distance if any between them.

Try adjusting this counter clock wise?

Roadrunner scooter review reply. Was looking at the lightning model with solid tires. I checked their website to see how much a replacement tire might cost in the future. Surprisingly I didn’t see any solid tires, so I emailed them. They told me they don’t have any but you could get one on Amazon. Is solid e scooter tires have the motor built in I thought to myself Amazon wouldn’t sell anything like that but I checked anyways and sure enough they did not sell anything like that. So I emailed roadrunner back and told them I didn’t find anything on Amazon because the motor is built into the solid tire and Amazon didn’t sell that. They emailed me back and said oh don’t worry about it, that if I ever needed one there after hours guys would help me out. After reading some of these other reviews with roadrunner, I try to look them up on Google maps to see where they were located. I couldn’t find anything no storefront no shop no anything. Roadrunner scooters is probably run out of somebody’s house. I figured they lied to me that somebody would get me a replacement solid tire with the motor built in motor if I eventually needed one. If you look on their website they have some pretty interesting models but I don’t trust roadrunner scooters at all.

JeffRoberts Hope you get it sorter man, shame you had to go out and purchase another scooter. Hope that scooter does the job.
NOTE - also you said the brakes couldnt be bleed? as there any oil in there to start with?

Roadrunner scooters are dangerous and not a joke if it wasn’t for a bad experience ending with concussion, busted open head, 6 broken ribs shattered pevic bone broken collar bones 2 weeks in ICU. This would be a awesome scooter, there is room for improvement I think with the handle bars. They remind me of scooters we had as a kid. A little sad for how much the product actually costs, but I think the nascar branding was more of a priority.
