Scooter battery

Hi I’ve brought a scooter for my dad, but it keeps stopping, it moves but if you put any weight on it or a slight incline it stops and starts beeping but turn the ignition off and on again it moves again, could this be a battery issue or something else, also it says the battery is full when parked but try and move and the gauge goes down to empty

I think that is the same scooter as my mom had. Lol For me i changed the battery out for her - but it wouldn’t charge. there is not really a lot of parts to make these move. simple motor, a controller and a battery and input devices / brakes.
Cant remember if that is a 12 V or 6 volt system? you could wire in another battery temporarily to make sure the one you have isn’t weak

It’s a nice scooter tbh I think it’s a 12v there’s 2 12v 34ah batteries on it, is there anyway I could check it’s the batteries before I buy new one’s?

For me it would be easy because i have a battery tester which tests the battery by putting some load resistance on it. Sometimes a battery will register 12 volts but it’s on the cusp of not being able to provide the needs for the device its in. Generally if it is 5 to 7 years old it’s going to be on its way out…
If there are 2 × 12 volt batteries in there (you mentioned) depending on how they are installed (in parallel 12 volt system, in series 24 volt system..) so you need to find out just how much voltage you have and what is correct for the scooter.
