Seems like this thread was brought back to life. Almost all older scooters (10+ years ago) have lead acid batteries. The downside is that they’re usually chain driven with brushed motors, which I prefer however they add noise, inefficiency, more points of failure, and it’s harder to mod them. And of course lead acid batteries are toxic, heavy, don’t last long, and take a long time to charge. But they’re cheap and don’t explode as easily.
