Confusing Ninebot G30LP range

I’m really confused about the range of the Ninebot MAX G30LP (looking at the Costco.ca one)

I’m seeing 40km of range on Costco and even on Segway. But I’m also seeing reports of 22km here and there. Almost half of the stated range. That seems impossible.

Can anyone shed some light here?

SebastienDicaire Not sure what’s going on. They might be confusing the G30 with G30LP. I see this all the time with retailers not able to list consistent range.

Here’s the deal:

Ninebot Max G30: 40 mi / 64 km (claimed); 28 mi / 45 km (ESG Tested)
Ninebot Max G30LP (smaller cheaper version of G30): 25 mi / 40 km (claimed) ; 13 mi / 21 km (ESG Tested)

Because manufacturers can claim anything, it’s best to go with the ESG Tested ranges for comparison.

So according to the ESG range, the Apollo Air(600$ CAD) and Air Pro(850$ CAD) are better choice than the G30LP (860$)?

Absolutely. The Air tied on range with G30LP, but Air Pro goes further.

The G30LP is somewhat of a let down – they took away the great things about the G30 (range, decent size deck) and only made it a little lighter and little cheaper.

Is it true that because the Air base only has a disk/regen brake on the back it is dangerous to ride it on busy lane?

SebastienDicaire I wouldn’t necessarily say dangerous, but having braking on two wheels rather that two brakes on one wheel is definitely better. This configuration isn’t uncommon on smaller scooters though.

The Air Pro and G30LP have better braking configuration with one on each wheel.

I’m a big fan of the Air Pro. It’s a scooter where the ride outshines the specifications, but unfortunately there isn’t a great way for us to quantify ride quality objectively and chart it. It’s noticeably nicer to ride than other scooters in it’s price class. I’m not as much a fan of the base Air. It shares the same great ride quality, but struggles up 10% hills and I’m also a huge fan of having brakes on both ends of the scooter. Still massively beats the M365 for ride quality, and I’d still choose it over the Xiaomi as long as my hills were in the 4 to 6% grade range.
