Will there be a review of the Segway P100s soon?

I managed to get a Segway P100s into my garage, but, I live in Alaska, so I’ve got a couple months before I can get out on the road (mulit-use pathways). In the mean time I’m stuck watching reviews!

I have owned other lower performance scooters, so I’m eager to see how this one I bought stacks up in your opinion. Especially with your real world testing numbers.

Back in July you mentioned you would review the P100s but as of yet I haven’t seen one.

As you can see by my other post, I have been bitten by the bug. I’m seriously thinking about a dual motor scooter with a thumb throttle.

EZD Make sure you don’t let the battery go dead during storage or keep it stored at 100% charge. You want it around 50-60% for storage. Also don’t store it in freezing temps (0c or lower). The battery can be permanently damaged otherwise.

I’ve been waiting for the same review. I also think they should review to P65 which has regularly been going on sale for $1000. For 1k, it seems like an absolutely amazing deal

I would say its main feature is its futuristic look and console however it specs and price range USD $1800.00, for the “on the road performance”, are just average beyond the chassis’ cool look. The fairly short wheelbase (35.4 in (900 mm) =>5 inches shorter than a mantis 10 and only a single 650 watt motor powering a 72 pound scooter, are things to be aware of.

Some of the factors that may affect the maximum speed include the rider’s weight, remaining battery power, wind resistance, etc.

PaulN Just like the GT series, there are better spec’d and better performing scooters for the same (or less) money. Not that Segway is bad, but there are better options to spend your money on.

I love the stated max range is based on riding at 9.9mph in perfect conditions on level ground…and a 165 pound rider (which ironically is my weight)

I’m doing 9.9mph when I’m rolling down my driveway when i leave home. Most of the time i am driving at 20mph. (that’s slow for some people even, but to me that speed gives a balanced ride - getting to your destination in decent time, and not scaring people on bike paths ) I would think most riders after the first two weeks of driving would agree they would like at least close to that speed with stable handling with least a 40 mile range.

PaulN is it me or does 20 mph feel different on different scooter? I mean 15 mph on my Hiboy feels so much slower than 15 mph on my Vsett 9+. Could be the power of the motors but idk. 20-25 mph is a sweet spot I think

For me the bigger the scooter the slower the speed feels. 20 on my original ninebot ES5 (I think max speed is 18 mph lol) Going down a steep hill with a few bumps is an “experience”, but at least the regenerative brake worked well.

PaulN I think it’s my weight I weight 150 lbs (68 kg) so bigger scooters are faster for me
