Go Trax G4 customer service

My husband and I would like to get scooters to ride for fun. After checking your reviews I wanted to choose the go trax G4 but I cannot find ANY favorable reviews of their customer service. All I find is people saying to NOT buy from them. What have you experienced?

The main scope of what we focus on is the scooter itself and though we used to remark on customer service, it seems to be a bit of a moving target. Companies with great initial customer service can be terrible in a year, but the video we made on it the prior year can’t be changed.

That said, we’ve heard others say negative things about their customer service. We did conduct a large retailer / scooter survey a while back and they averaged something like 4.2 / 5 from 19 responses. I was a little surprised it didn’t capture more of the negative things we’d heard.

Here’s my overall feeling:

GOTRAX scooters themselves are fantastic value
Customer service may be lacking/non-existent
If concerned, buy from a retailer with good return policy that will stand by the product (Amazon, etc)
Even lacking customer service, I know of no sub-$300 scooter that is as good of a value that has superior customer service

Debbieseaman2015 If it helps, we’ve seen poor reviews of Gotrax in general, as it doesn’t appear they provide long-term support. However, from our personal experience with the G4, it feels well made and has lots of the features we would want beginner riders to have.

“Riding for fun” can mean lots of different things/speeds, and for me is under 20 mph. The G4 is great for this, as its max speed with a 165 lb rider is 20 mph. It’s an inexpensive scooter with lots of great features.

I was surprised to come across comments recently about someone having a good experience buying replacement parts from GoTrax.

I was disappointed just now to find that when you call the support number, a recording politely refers you back to the website, and then basically hangs up.

Something else to keep in mind is that the warranty on GoTrax scooters is shorter than most at 90 days. They are well made scooters, and generally nice to ride.

Thanks for your replies! Although the G4 seems like a good scooter, I’m thinking we will go with the Turboant X7 Pro. It sounds like a great scooter and I’ve heard good things about their customer support.

In the sub $500 proce range, Ramier and I like the TurboAnt X7 pro the best, and Trina and Chuck like the G4 the best.

I was happy to hear, last week on our live show, that Peter Sommer, owner of NYC Electric Scooters, has had good experiences being able to source parts for GoTrax scooters. Either one is great scooter value.

The product is great. What is absolutely terrible is the customer support:

I got a flat tire. You would think it would be easy to fix that, especially as I have tens of years of experience with bicycles. NOPE! The user manual doesn’t tell you how to remove the wheel so that you can change the inner tube. I tried I wasn’t able to remove it. Their official website is out of inner tubes. When I visited a bike shop, they were afraid to remove the wheel, as they were afraid they could damage anything. When I emailed the support (my product was still under guarantee as I purchased it only a few months ago), they promised to send me the inner tube, however since I contacted them a month ago, nothing happened. I asked multiple times for a tracking number, however they just replied with silly excuses. Honestly I have no idea how such a prosperous company can have such a terrible support. Even though I love the product, customer support is so important to me, than my next electric scooter is DEFINITELY not Gotrax!!!

We decided that implementing SIP tracking would allow our company to save money on calls, because this way we could use the internet instead of phone lines. We found a SIP Trunking Service and contacted the best company that provided us with this service. The company gave us flexibility and scalability. And thanks to them we are now saving money on calls.
