Hi I’m new here and I’m trying to build a custom electric scooter and I could use some technical advice.
I’m trying to build a 2wd scooter and I have 2 8000w hub motors BLDC and 2 52v 19.2ah 994.56wh batteries.
The motors and batteries were previously paired together, meaning they came from 2 donor scooters.
So, the motors, I need to verify they are truly 8000w motors, they are marked inside with grease pen in what appears to say 8kw or 8kv.
Is there a way to test with multimeter to verify?
And how do I know if they are hall sensored or not?
They have 10 inch solid tires on them and the hub diameter is 6 inches, so when I read about motor hub size, is it 10 or 6?
I would think 6 but all I seem to see online are 10 inch so I’m a bit derailed there.
So I’m aware I need to purchase dual controller set and I’m looking at several online and verifying some of these points is in effort to buy the correct equipment.
So, I need a 52v controllers for 8000w motors.
I read somewhere that 52v would be approx 25amps. Any words of advice there?
Could I use controllers that were rated higher in voltage than 52, say like 60v?
I assume lower voltage like 48v would not work?
And same with the motor wattage, could I use higher?
And if I used lower wattage, would that limit my motors to the lower rated wattage or would I burn the controllers up with too much amperage?
I plan to setup the batteries in parallel to maintain the 52v but raise the ah to 19.2 doubled.
But I’m not exactly sure how that would work with the BMS boards.
I have seen some things online about that but really haven’t read much into it yet but I thought since I’m here and asking questions I may as well throw a few more in, lol.
Another thought I had was to run one battery to the front motor and one to the rear motor via their associated controller and then have separate charging ports, which I would think would decrease charging time in half.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated as well as advice to the above inquiries and feel free to add anything else you think I may need to be aware of.
Thanks again!
This is a link to the controllers I think I need but notice they don’t specify motor wattage

This is a link to controllers I also like because I like the dash better but since they are 60v…….
