Quick update,
I’ve had my nami for maybe 5 months but haven’t really ridden it much until about a month or so ago. I have about a total of 59 miles now and probably 40-45 of those in the last 3 or so weeks. First thing I needed to do once i got to riding it regularly was to check tire pressure and setup the front n rear suspension. Damn, what a difference. My mistake for assuming this was ready to ride out the box. Wasn’t bad by any means but a very noticeable difference once those 2 things were adjusted. The thing is a blast to ride.
I’ve put it in S mode which gets me to around 28-29mph (I’m 6ft, around 200 lbs) and made some adjustments in the P settings and had to turn off the regen braking. Even on the lowest setting, i felt it was way too intrusive and damn near lunged me forward when gently braking so that had to be turned off completely. I also lowered the acceleration rate to i think 80% front n rear motors which i may even lower it some more.
Today I rode it to work and about 1/10th of a mile away from my job, battery dropped to 25% and I had no idea that it goes into like limp mode to conserve energy but it dropped down to 7mph. Mind you, this is still on its very first charge from day 1 and it has sat in my garage majority of the time. I’m not sure how many more miles I would have gotten from 25% battery but I’d say 59 miles from 75% of battery and only 1 charge in 5 months is something I’m more than happy with and with the weather warming up some, it will start to get regular use. I take residential roads with stop n go’s in a 25mph zone so S mode is just fine to keep up with the cars whenever there are some. I’ve been using my motorcycle helmet and gloves to help with wind and possible bug in my eyes/mouth.
I’ve found myself having to reprogram my brain when riding this thing because I’m a sportbike rider of 20 years and I wish the blinkers/switches were on the left side since that’s how it is on my motorcycles. I also wish that the rear brake lever was on the right side instead of left. I’ve found myself to be much more comfortable on the rear brakes on the nami which may sound odd coming from a motorcycle rider who 100% of the time only uses the front brake lever which is on the right but I’m still programmed to think the left lever is the clutch even though it’s now the rear brake so that’s been a lil hard to get used to. Part of me wonders what a twist throttle would be like on this scooter vs the thumb throttle even though I’m okay with it as is. The carbon stem seems to have a slight wiggle during braking or going over bumps but I’m sure that’s by design to have a lil flex but it still feels solid. Having full suspension has been amazing. Going over speed bumps is such a breeze and nothing to get too worried about. The lights are nice n bright and I’m kinda surprised by how useful that small headlight is at nights. Definitely takes some fine tweaking to line it up just right to increase visibility.
Overall, I’m more than happy with this scooter. It is far more scooter than I will ever need but the thing is just BAD…..ASS!! It is so much fun to ride and be on the road just cruisin. Having the hickup with my initial talenic order was a blessing in disguise because it led me to keep lookin for other options which ultimately led me to pegascooter and landing me a steal of a deal on a scooter i wasn’t even considering due to retail cost.
