Apollo Ghost vs Kaabo Mantis V2 vs Vsett 9+ for off-roading

I plan to buy a scooter for riding on light off-roading trails. The 3 scooters in the title are in the same price range with Vsett 9+ being a bit cheaper than the other two (smallest motor/battery and 8.5″ tires). Which one has the best suspension and ride comfort for trails? I can see both the Ghost and Mantis V2 have good suspension from the reviews, anyone compared before?

Tree roots are the enemy of my Ghost, and this isn’t on a trail. I cut through a tree filled field sometimes if someone is on the sidewalk I use for most of my travels. Have you actually test rode any of them? If your’e in the Norfolk, VA area hit me up. If near D.C. area they have a escooter shop called Wyrd Ryds I want to check out one day. I’ve only ridden my Ghost so I can’t compare but I hate cutting thru that field going anything over 10mph. Note that I’m on the fatter end at 220 pounds.

sc00ter Thanks, I don’t think there’s a place to test ride these up north in Canada. Limited to ezwheel and smartwheel for online orders.

Get the mantis the VSETT isn’t built for off roading more of a commuter scooter. I own the 9+ And I personally don’t feel like the scooter is built for off road but you can always try.

I have a Mantis and I drive it off and and roads, it will handle most tree roots and walking trails without issue. I weight about 180 pounds, bigger rider may experience bottoming out occasionally while going over them.
Once again for the right rider and price range the Mantis 10 pro series can work for you. V1 V2 or the new GT

That is pretty well what mine looks like. I chose red/black trim.
I took the one with the bigger 60 V 24.5 brand name battery, and hydraulic brakes, I recommend you do that that as well. you will get 40 miles of range in normal riding conditions without issues. 40mph. Great handling.

I drive all my scooters in one wheel mode 95% of the time. Turbo mode varying gears 1,2 or 3. to suit my mood.
The mantis is quicker than the Phantom, the phantom has a tiny bit more top speed, (the mantis is limited IMO, to just under 40. It has the power to go faster but it won’t) Maybe its a safety concern by Kaabo?

In one wheel mode it tackles all hills and situations well enough. I only use 2 wheel mode to do some super steep climbs, which it easily handles even with a full back pack. Also when you want some fun quick acceleration runs. I prefer one wheel mode on the trails, i find handling is easier on loose ground using just the rear wheel drive, rather than both wheels.
Maybe you can test drive a mantis, i know here the dealer that sells them has demo models. Not sure in your area?

PaulN Thanks I’ll check to see if they have demos. Knowing that you can go on trails with single motor definitely helps, I might consider the single motor version after all since it’s $400 cheaper. I probably won’t even go over 20km/h (12mph) on the trail (especially trails with uneven road) so dual motor does seem like an overkill for me in terms of performance.

Direct from China. Skip the retail and save hundreds or even more than a grand.

Different alibaba pages unless you have the website url directly. For example, pegascooter sells nami burn e2 far below retail. Almost 1500 cheaper than retail for an original 100% nami. Cut out the middle men. I got my 28ah burn e2 for around 2k shipped to my door.
