I just wanted to do a quick review after my first 500 kms on my latest addition to my scooter collection. Some aspects of the scooter can be both a pro or a con on this scooter.
Pros:
-Styling
-heavy weight
-off road tires (tubeless)
-power to spare
-quality mechanical components
-range
-smooth ride especially when switching to grass or a bumpy trail.
-high speed stability
-easily keep up with car traffic even in one motor mode
-customer support so far has fixed two elec. problems for me within 24-48 hours. (from China)
Cons:
-heavy weight / Portability
-off road tires (noisy on road)
-poor assembly QC and choice of fasteners from Factory
-rats nest of wires under the deck and some too short
-definitely not a scooter to ride in any water (holes where wires go in deck)
-low speed tight turning maneuverability
So after a month or close to 2 now of having this scooter, I’m mostly satisficed with the price point vs. value aspect of it. For USD$2500.00 delivered to my door, I have a powerful scooter, that looks cool, and checks all the main boxes i was looking for.
I want to explain why for example the weight is on both sides of my list, The heavy weight makes it almost impossible to go up any stairs or transport unless you have a van or a small SUV to go to a trail. It also is a bit hard to get used to the drive at first. But the heavy construction and suspension also makes the ride super smooth. If i take a bumpy trail on the Phantom or Kaabo, my filings almost come loose. The YUME smooths it all out. It cruises along roads, bumps and sewers don’t affect the ride.
The off road tires are very noisy at higher speeds. Kind of annoying, but most people hear you coming and you don’t have to use the bell or horn so its a trade off. I do 25% off road so they work well for me. Tree roots are the worst IMO even worse then rocks. The Yume smooths them out.
I have gotten used to the weight and have adjusted my inputs to ride the scooter faster through turns now. It’s hard to explain but you need to steer and use your body weight differently on this scooter then my other 3. Overall I’m very happy with this scooter, but we will see after another 500 kms. 😀
