I think what actually is important is to figure out what wire does what and match them. On my YUME pins 3 and 4 are power, so the others are control wires for acceleration and then something must transfer data to the display info so that must be on the other wire.
A wiring diagram is must really. you don’t want to short something out accidentally. Controllers usually have factory set parameters as well. So matching a different controller you find on line, if you don’t have all the P settings correct, that will be a roadblock as well.
