Mantis V2 Fluid OR Vsett 10+

Hi all - I am looking at the Mantis V2 and Vsett 10+ as a daily commuter. I haven’t been able to test drive either but….I had a chance to test ride some scooters today, a Mantis v1, Apollo Phantom v1, inokim oxo…I liked the Mantis and Phantom for ride quality and feeling in the handlebars and brakes, both really nice. I didn’t like the Inokim because of the handling. The Phantom did seem a little more plush and was easier to go faster on, quite nice! This is my first scooter purchase and I’m on the fence because the weight of the Vsett is slightly higher than I’d like, 79 lbs, and the 65 lbs for the Mantis v2 is great and I did like the ride of the V1. Does anyone have experience with these two scooters? The Vsett 10+ has some glowing reviews and also some repair videos that look concerning. I don’t know very much as I’m a beginner and there is clearly a lot to learn. I don’t think I’d be disappointed with either option, they both seem very capable and great rides.

aegarces I own a VSETT 9+ And it’s basically the little brother of the 10+ the design is pretty similar and I do like my 9+ however what I heard about 10+ is that it get speed wobbles at high speed and there’s a time limit on sport mode which are some cons to the 10+ But there are cons to every scooter

ItsAqua Thanks, I have also seen that speed wobble in discussions. Ginger on wheels shows what it looks like in a video, it’s like a chatter. ewheels.com is selling the 10+ with a damper, that seems to help stabilize at higher speed. One other consideration I’m mulling over is being able to get to a repair shop if need be. Fluid Free Rides in Brooklyn is close enough and they sell/service the Mantis, the guy that works there is also very helpful. There is a large community online for the Vsett 10+, I have found a good unofficial user manual and community forum. I’m feeling a little nervous about what being a scooter rider/owner will ultimately be like. The potential injuries from crashing and repair scenarios abound, will that be worth the time savings for a fast/easy commute?

aegarces it does save money on gas and Uber/Lyft and beats the bus and subways but you can’t ride it in the rain or else your scooter is toasted if you gear up and ride safe you’ll have no problem respect cars pedestrian and other riders (bikers scooter rider and other PEVs) since both scooters you want have air filled tires you might get a flat but it’s not that common with 10 in tires put tire sealant in your tires and maintain them at the right psi don’t ride recklessly weaving in and out of traffic and don’t push your scooter it will break a scooter is like a car if you maintain it it’ll work good note that over time the battery will degrade which is common in electronics
